WB govt funding heart surgeries of children free of cost: CM

Kolkata: Stressing that a "healthy heart is essential for a healthy body", West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee said on Saturday her government, under its 'Shishu Sathi' scheme, has been funding surgery of children with cardiac problems. The CM, on the occasion of World Heart Day, also stated that government hospitals in Bengal provide treatment free of cost.

'800-Strong Mob Intended To Cause Death': Probe Agency On Bengal Attack

Giving chilling details about the attack on its officials, allegedly by supporters of a Trinamool Congress leader, the Enforcement Directorate has said the mob consisted of 800-1,000 people and that there was an "intention to cause death".
