Kisan Vikas Patra

 (KVP) is a saving instrument or savings certificate offered by the Government of India through post offices where invested amount doubles upon completion of maturity period of Eight Years and Seven months.


 WHO CAN INVEST

1 An adult in his own name, or on behalf of a minor
2 A Trust 
3 Two adults jointly

 LIMITATIONS OF INVESTEMENTS KVP

 certificates are available in denominations of Rs100, Rs500, Rs1000, Rs5000, Rs10,000 and Rs50,000. The minimum amount that can be invested is Rs100 however there is no upper limit on purchase of KVPs.

 ****Kisan Vikas Patra does not offers any income tax benefit to the investor however withdrawals are however exempted from Tax Deduction at Source (TDS) upon maturity**** 

WITHDRAWL 


Premature encashment of the KVP certificate is not permissible. The certificates can only be encashed in event of the death of the holder or forfeiture by a pledgee or on the order of the courts.
