6 Deaths, 1515 New Covid Cases Recorded In Delhi In Last 24 Hours

Delhi on Saturday logged 1,515 COVID-19 infections and six fatalities with a case positivity rate of 26.46, according to data shared by the health department here. With the new fatalities, the death count from the pandemic rose to 26,595 in the national capital, while the case tally is 20,32,424. Covid was the primary cause of death in one of the six fatalities on Saturday, the department said. Out of 7,974 Covid beds in the city, 385 are occupied, the data showed. The department did not issue a bulletin on Friday. The city saw three fatalities and 1,603 COVID-19 cases on Thursday with a positivity rate of 26.75. On Wednesday, Delhi reported six deaths along with 1,757 new cases of the disease with a positivity rate of 28.63. The national capital had recorded 1,537 COVID-19 cases on Tuesday with a positivity rate of 26.54. Delta Passenger Accused Of Grabbing, Forcibly Kissing Flight Attendant: Report

A Delta Airlines first-class passenger was arrested after he was accused of forcing himself on a male flight attendant and kissing him on the neck, New York Post reported. The passenger has been identified as David Alan Burk, aged 61, who was travelling from Minnesota to Alaska to settle his dead friend's estate. As a first-class passenger on the Delta Airlines flight, Mr Burk was entitled to drinks before his take-off from Minneapolis. However, the crew member told him he ''ran out of time'' to serve him red wine. After takeoff, the flight attendant, identified as TC, served him a glass of red wine. When he returned later to collect meal trays from him, Mr Burk reached out to shake TC's hand, according to an affidavit. 10 minutes later, Mr Burk got up to use the restroom and stopped at the galley where TC was. 7 Killed, Over 40 Injured After Bus Collides With Truck In UP's Ayodhya

 Seven passengers were killed and more than 40 injured as a bus toppled sideways after colliding with a truck and came under the loaded goods carrier on the Lucknow-Gorakhpur Highway, officials said. The accident took place late in the evening, when the private bus coming from Ayodhya was negotiating a turn on the highway to move towards Ambedkarnagar, they said. The bus collided with the truck coming from the opposite side, the officials said, adding the impact was so intense that the the truck got overturned and the bus got buried under it. Ayodhya Chief Medical Officer Dr Ajay Raja said, "So far, seven persons have died and more than 40 persons are injured in the road accident." He added that rescue operations are still going on. Russia Court Orders Arrest Of Bulgarian Journalist For Illegal Border Crossing

 A Moscow court on Friday ordered the arrest in absentia of Bulgarian investigative journalist Christo Grozev, whose reporting for the Bellingcat news outlet has angered Russia, RIA news agency said. The court said Grozev had illegally crossed the Russian border. RIA cited a law enforcement source as saying that Grozev was accused of facilitating the escape of Roman Dobrokhotov, the editor of a Russian news outlet, who left Russia in 2021. Friday's order was issued three weeks after the arrest of U.S. journalist Evan Gershkovich on charges of spying. Grozev has probed the poisoning of Kremlin critic Alexei Navalny, the poisoning of former Russian double agent Sergei Skripal and the downing of the MH17 passenger plane over eastern Ukraine. NASA's Perseverance rover has now been exploring Mars for a little over two years, and it has captured and sent back some amazing photos during that stretch. It had been travelling around Mars with its pet rock. But now it is without its previous friend. Indian Youth Congress president Srinivas BV was charged with "outraging a woman's modesty, criminal intimidation, and sexual harassment by making sexually coloured remarks" by the Assam police on Friday. The charge is based on a complaint by the party's former youth wing chief Angkita Dutta that she registered at Dispur Police station on Wednesday. She has also recorded her statement before a magistrate, which means she cannot change her statement now. The ambit of charges filed against Srinivas BV in the First Information Report (FIR) include outraging a woman's modesty, sexual harassment by making sexually coloured remarks, criminal intimidation, assault, and wrongful restraint. Old Mortar Shell Found In Delhi By Civic Body Staff

An old mortar shell was recovered from a drain in Kapashera village here by the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) staff today, police said. Information regarding the recovery of a suspected explosive device was received at around 12.30 pm from the MCD staff, who were cleaning the drainage in the village near FIMT college, a senior police officer said. The area was cordoned off and the site was covered with sandbags.
